The roles reversed.<\/p>\n

After two months of leaving, visiting other projects and neighborhoods spread throughout Lisbon, it is up to us to welcome all the people who have welcomed us so well.
\nThe first one to visit the “Quinta do Cabrinha” and “Outros Campeonatos” (and understood this in the scope of this project, since they had already been there and they have been missed) was the Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Nacional de Futebol de Rua<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a full day, sunny, that ended with that kind of tiredness that tastes good.<\/p>\n

It is comfortable to receive people we like and who immediately take away the nervous from the responsibility of being the host. The staff of the “Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Nacional de Futebol de Rua” has the habit of putting us completely at ease and so it was.<\/p>\n

The day started with street football. Predictable? Yes. Does it make sense? Also. We have been playing in the morning to get to know each other better, the body in motion makes us forget the embarrassments of those who are shy in the presence of others. We played until we were ordered to stop. Because while some were playing, there were others who had been involved in organizing this day with “Outros Campeonatos”.<\/p>\n

The challenge was launched, to all those who normally attend the headquarters of the Citizenship Academy, to help to receive our guests at Quinta do Cabrinha. And many young people volunteered. They were arranging things for lunch, for the next visit, and for the afternoon games. Also the lunch was of local production, a resident of the neighborhood, Maria dos Anjos, to reestablish energies for the afternoon.<\/p>\n

We had lunch at the facilities of the Santo Ant\u00f3nio Sports Club in Lisbon, in the heart of the neighborhood, to whom we thank for giving us the space so that we could rest a little and fill our belly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Restored and willing to continue the day, it is time for Um Outro Olhar<\/a> o catch the reins of the ride. The visit they have prepared, Old factories in Alc\u00e2ntara: from Cabrinha to Lisbonense<\/a>, it is about the origins of Quinta do Cabrinha and about the whole area of the Alc\u00e2ntara Valley and its industrial development throughout history. We are trying to tell you this story, you promise that it will be in time! Meanwhile, in the next editions of the visits (April 22, May 6 and May 20), you can join us. Just show up around 2.30pm here at Headquarters!).<\/p>\n

This partnership is in line with what we want, also, with “Outros Campeonatos”. Open the neighborhood to its surroundings, think about what is and what was the history of Cabrinha and bring people from outside, inviting them to look at this area in another way, less formatted and more empathic. There were about 40 people, the ones who came this time! And how proud we are.<\/p>\n

We ended up on the farthest floor of the “Ler Devagar” Bookstore, in the middle of the Lx Factory, listening to the flying and delicious stories that accompany Pietro Proserpio’s crazy machines<\/a>. Who does not know it go there. It’s the funniest bits this city has to tell you.<\/p>\n

We went back to Cabrinha and relaxed after a long, exhausting day, and in the end we only have that feeling of wanting to lie down with the sun on our face and smiling.<\/p>\n

It’s great to receive people, especially when we see everyone around us having fun. Let them come more and more. Thank you to the first ones. They were the greatest, come back fast.<\/p>\n

We were much more of those that appear, the shame of taking pictures was felt \ud83d\ude09<\/p><\/div>\n

Outros Campeonatos<\/strong> is a project by Academia Cidad\u00e3, that aims to promote active citizenship in Quinta do Cabrinha, Alc\u00e2ntara.<\/p>\n

Funded by BIP\/ZIP<\/a> from the Municipality of Lisbon<\/a> with the partnership of District Hall of Alc\u00e2ntara<\/a>, the youth group \u201cWinds of Change\u201d, the National Association of Street Football<\/a> and the Lisbon Sustainable Tourism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Outros Campeonatos<\/strong> will contribute for the social fortification of the neighborhood, promoting community organization, capacity for local initiative and greater democratic awareness. It will also promote an opening of the neighborhood to society in general, reinforcing its integrity in the city. The main strategies of action will be street football and tourism. Street football events draw the inhabitants of the neighborhood to intervene and participate in its organization and implementation \u2013 with facilitation of tools and processes of organized citizen participation. Tourism helps rethinking the neighborhood, opening the community to new citizenship experiences.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
